It must be getting close to election time, because Donald Trump is suddenly to blame for everything.
The blanket bias against Trump isn’t anything new, but it certainly has grown a bit unwieldy in recent months as the 2020 election looms off in the distance like some hulking thundercloud that promises a heavy, torrential downpour.
The trouble is coming, and it is being preceded quite transparently by the rhetoric of our Capitol Hill-billies and their biased screeds.
Just take the latest from House Rep. Adam Schiff, for instance.
“The president is willfully fanning the flames of this fire,” Schiff said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“They believe this is helpful to him,” Schiff said, referring to Trump’s allies.
“The president is only motivated by one thing: what is in it for him. He sees this violence and his ability to agitate more of it as useful to this campaign. What it does to the country, the loss of life, he doesn’t care,” Schiff added.
The comments come just a day after Portland, Oregon erupted in violence between protesters and counter-protesters. The clashes lasted well into the night and left at least one of the demonstrators dead.
Rep. Schiff has long been on President Trump’s bad side, having led the House Intelligence Committee through the rigamarole of a doomed impeachment of Trump last year.
