Amid heightened tensions with U.S., Russia tests new nuclear weapons

The action flies in the face of a global moratorium on such tests.

No matter what side of the Mueller mess you land on, one thing is very clear:  Russia is not, and likely will not ever be, our ally.

Their systematic approach to interfering in our 2016 election is an egregious and serious matter that needs to be addressed, like, yesterday.  If not, there is little doubt that the Kremlin and their comrades will continues to interject themselves into the American political machine until such a time as they get whatever it is that they want.

As if to drive the point home, Putin and his cronies are popping off a number of illegal nuclear tests as a reminder of what the Russian government is really all about.

The United States believes Russia may be conducting low-level nuclear testing in violation of a moratorium on such tests, the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency said on Wednesday.

“The United States believes that Russia probably is not adhering to its nuclear testing moratorium in a manner consistent with the ‘zero-yield’ standard,” Lieutenant General Robert P. Ashley said at an arms control forum at the Hudson Institute.

Russian government and military action are often cloaked in secrecy, offering an ever-impending view of whatever it is that the Kremlin is up to.

US President Donald Trump has been accused by democrats of being far too friendly with longtime Russian President Vladimir Putin over the course of his first term, and after the recent revelations regarding the Kremlin’s attempts to sabotage an American election, many will be calling for the White House to take action on these nuclear tests.
