Another Impeachment? ‘Delay’ Tweet has Opponents Publicly Floating the Idea

It is highly doubtful that Americans have any appetite for such a course of action.

President Trump has found himself in a number of wildly combative situations during his first term in the Oval Office, many of which has spawned from the incendiary rhetoric of the liberal left’s Washington insiders.

You see, Trump came from a different world entirely, and promised on the campaign trail to shake things up once he got to Washington.  This had The Beltway Bobs and Betties more than a little hesitant to welcome him with open arms.  Then, when Trump truly began to dismantle the alleged “Deep State”, the vitriol turned positively vicious.

The entire mood of DC is hanging from such a precarious wire at this point that even a tweet from Trump can spark calls for his impeachment.

Federalist Society co-founder Steven Calabresi opposed Trump’s impeachment last year, but he thinks the president’s tweet on Thursday criticizing mail-in voting and bringing up a postponement to election day crossed the line.

“Until recently, I had taken as political hyperbole the Democrats’ assertion that President Trump is a fascist,” Calabresi wrote in an op-ed published in The New York Times on Thursday.

“But this latest tweet is fascistic and is itself grounds for the president’s immediate impeachment again by the House of Representatives and his removal from office by the Senate.”

Given the jaded mood in Washington DC, and the grueling memory of Trump’s previous impeachment boondoggle, it is doubtful that the American people have the appetite for such a spectacle again.
