After last weekend’s vicious and terrifying hi-jinks, the liberal terror group Antifa is coming under increased scrutiny by a wary American public.
During the Portland, Oregon demonstrations, members of the “anti fascist” organization brandished weapons and, under the disguised visage of masks and bandanas, wreaked havoc on the city and their citizens.
In the crossfire was Andy Ngo, a conservative journalist whose tale of being brutally beaten by Antifa members went viral and prompted renewed calls for the examination of the oft-violent organization.
Now one of The Big Apple’s top cops is jumping into the discussion with a new angle of investigation into these miscreant menaces.
An FBI investigation of criminal conduct across Antifa would reveal its funding sources, said former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, who offered his analysis of Antifa’s assault of journalist Andy Ngo in Portland in a Monday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.
“I think the FBI has to get involved,” stated Kerik. “I agree with Ted Cruz. I think there has to be civil rights investigations. Somebody is funding these organizations. This is a domestic terror group. This is a group using violence and intimidation to attack people for political reasons, and when they do, that becomes an act of terrorism.”
And here’s where the plot thickens…
Kerik continued, “[Antifa] should be investigated for criminal conduct and I’m sure — I’m 100 percent positive — that if you investigate them as a terrorist organization, you’re going to get to see the funding stream, and you’re going to find out who’s putting up the money to pay these nitwits to go out there and attack people.”
Donald Trump’s “Salute to America” celebration of Independence Day in Washington DC tomorrow has some authorities concerned about the presence of Antifa in the nation’s capital.
Should the progressive posses arrive ready to do damage, as they have in Portland and beyond, the spectacle could make America the laughing stock of the entire world.
