Bank Robber Spreads Holiday Cheer Tossing Cash in the Air and Shouting ‘Merry Christmas’
Strange doesn’t begin to describe the situation.
Well, that’s one way to bring holiday cheer to your fellow man during the Christmas season.
In one of the more bizarre stories to come out of Colorado this week, a bank robber has been arrested after flinging cold, hard cash into the air and shouting Merry Christmas at passerby’s.
“He robbed the bank, came out, threw the money all over the place,'” said Dion Pascale, who told 11 News he watched the whole thing unfold.
According to police, the robber walked into the Academy Bank on 1 S. Tejon St. just before 12:30 p.m. Monday, claimed to have a weapon in his pocket, and took cash.
Police have not confirmed what happened next, but according to Pascale, the crook tried to put a holiday spin on his crime.
“He started throwing money out of the bag and then said, ‘Merry Christmas!'”
The criminal then calmly walked into a Starbuck’s coffee shop near the bank and waited for police to arrive and arrest him.
The suspect even bore a striking resemblance to Santa Claus, if Old Saint Nick was also a big fan of Kenny Rogers.

There is no telling what sort of sentence Oliver will face for his bizarre and merry mischief.
