Bernie and Bloomberg Battle Over Cardiac Health Ahead of Nevada Debate

This was a clever maneuver by the Sanders campaign, given the coming debate in Nevada.

The Democratic Party has found themselves in a bit of a pickle.

The party of “tolerance” and “diversity” is now fighting amongst themselves as to which rich, old, white guy they want to nominate in 2020.  With Joe Biden suddenly slipping out of the running faster than this dentures try to jump out of his mouth while telling stories about “Corn Pop”, the choices seem to be 78 year-old Senator Bernie Sanders or 78 year-old billionaire Mike Bloomberg.

To make matters even worse, the two have been engaged in a bitter battle this week over whose heart is in worse condition.

A spokeswoman for Sen. Bernie Sanders‘s (I-Vt.) presidential campaign said Wednesday she “misspoke” when she claimed Sanders’s primary opponent former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg has had a heart attack.

“I mispoke when I said Bloomberg had a heart attack,” Sanders spokeswoman Briahna Joy Gray tweeted Wednesday, after making the comments on CNN’s “New Day” earlier that morning.

“Rather, he underwent the same stent procedure as Bernie. Bernie released 3 detailed medical reports in December — just like the other candidates.”

This may have just been a shrewd, preemptive line in the sand, however.

Bernie and Bloomberg will be squaring off on the debate stage in the coming days, and the Sanders campaign was likely hoping to set some parameters as to how the candidates will be able to speak about one another’s health and vitality during that contest.  This conversation about “stents” puts the dueling septuagenarians on a level playing field.
