Border Patrol blasts Ocasio-Cortez after ‘misinformation’ stunt at detention facility

This is the second time in recent days that Ocasio-Cortez has been accused of misleading the American people in regard to border security.

If there is one thing that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is good at, it’s getting attention.

The bartender-turned-freshman Congresswoman has had the attention of the democratic party for months now, both irritating the “old guard” with her ultra-progressive and bloviated politicking, and emboldening the new wave of radical liberals and socialists infiltrating the party.

In classic AOC style, the young lawmaker made a spectacle of her visit to a Border Patrol detention facility on Tuesday, carrying on, crying, and screaming at agents manning the station.  She made wild claims of detainees being forced to drink from toilets – a claim that Border Patrol vehemently denies.

Now, after the blatant misinformation campaign waged by Ocasio-Cortez took hold in the mainstream media, the agency is standing up for itself and attempting to set the record straight.

“They are not drinking out of the toilet—no Border Patrol agent is going to make anyone drink out of the toilet,” former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan said on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” Tuesday. “It’s just ridiculous on its face.”

Homan alleged that Ocasio-Cortez was “clearly, intentionally misinforming the American public.”

“She’s lost all credibility,” he said.

The “toilet water” claim came under swift attack after it was discovered that the equipment within the facility was similar to what Americans see in municipal jails around the nation.

Homan suggested she was simply referring to the “apparatus” in holding cells that has an attached sink and toilet, but two separate water lines.

“You’re drinking out of the same apparatus, the same piece of equipment, but there are two separate water lines—one going to the commode, one going to the sink,” Homan explained. “… [T]hey are designed that way to try to save space and make it more comfortable for the people who are in those facilities.”

This is the second time in recent days that Ocasio-Cortez has been accused of misinforming the American people in regard to border security.

The first incident came as she was photographed shouting and weeping at the fence of another such facility, with her emotional response coming as she was staring into nothing more than a parking lot.  Critics of the Congresswoman claim that she was merely acting distraught in order to make for better optics.
