Chris Cuomo Gives Offensive Excuse for CNN Not Fact-Checking DNC

How petty.

As the Republican National Convention got underway this week, all eyes were on the mainstream media, with the nation wondering just what sort of coverage these heavily-virtual events would garner from our glut of infotainment networks.

Perhaps the most surprising observations came from CNN, who were actually praised by President Donald Trump on account of their willingness to air the entirety of the event, whereas Fox News and others spent much of the night pontificating about what it all means.

But CNN didn’t get it all right, of course, and the network soon came under fire for their incessant fact-checking of the RNC and the lack of such real-time research when it came to the DNC.

Anchor Chris Cuomo defended this reality with an offensive suggestion.

When asked about the double standard, Cuomo had the following to say:

“[A]gain, well, who are people going to believe? We’ll see who makes the better case. And yeah, you can fact-check it to death. We could fact-check this convention all night. People were saying you didn’t fact-check the Democrats. They are not lying, the way Trump does. Do politicians lie? Of course, both parties engage in it. Yes, I’ll give you the full ‘Guilfoyle.’ But not like Donald Trump. Nobody lies the way this man does, has, and will that I’ve ever seen in politics. So — he’s lying to you.”

We can only imagine that the previous praise from President Trump will be a short-lived phenomenon at this rate.
