Where once the mainstream media was an unbiased accounting of the day’s news told to us by folks with immaculate haircuts, the reality in 2020 is much, much different.
These days we are being smothered with spin by an infotainment industry hellbent on manufacturing clicks and likes, who judge their accomplishments by the buzz they create and not the objective worth of their reporting. A salacious soundbite is now just as valuable as an inside scoop, and this only drives the hyperbolic rage of the public even further.
For instance, we now have CNN personalities intimating their delight at the possibility that Donald Trump will be dragged, kicking and screaming, from the White House.
“I cannot wait” to watch “police and armed forces trying to pull Donald Trump out of the White House,” an unhinged April Ryan blurted out over the weekend.
“There’s going to be a split-screen on Jan. 20, 2021. If Joe Biden is now going to be the 46th president of the United States, you will have him being inaugurated and watching police and armed forces trying to pull Donald Trump out of the White House. I cannot wait for that split-screen,” Ryan said.
Ryan has been a frequent critic of President Trump, and has consistently proven to be one of the most aggressively vitriolic television personalities on the CNN payroll.
And, in this day and age, that’s saying something.
