Controversy has long surrounded the Governor of the Empire State, but this was often a feature of his brand of hard-nosed, snarky politicking. This week, however, Andrew Cuomo looks to be in the hot seat for real.
That’s because a former aide is now accusing Cuomo of years’ worth of sexual harassment, blowing the whistle on his lewd behavior in an incredibly public and embarrassing fashion.
New York City politico Lindsey Boylan alleged on Twitter Sunday that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo “sexually harassed me for years.”
She worked for Empire State Development, the state’s economic development public-benefit organization, until March 2018, when she became deputy secretary for economic development and special adviser to Cuomo.
Boylan appeared extremely confident in her claims.
“Yes, @NYGovCuomo sexually harassed me for years,” Boylan wrote. “Many saw it, and watched. I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years.”
“Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it,” Boylan continued. “No one. And I *know* I am not the only woman.”
As of Sunday evening, Cuomo’s office had yet to make an official statement, but has told Fox News that the claims were wholly false.
