Dem’s Trump-tax-return scheme hits major snag, has POTUS smiling

The left is going to need a new schtick in the not-so-distant future.

The democratic attempts to undermine the presidency of Donald Trump have been absurd and unending, to put it succinctly, and their adjudication looks to be similarly stubborn as well.

For years now the leftists in Congress have been attempting to get President Trump, any way that they can.  Some weeks, it’s a scandalous affair with a washed up adult film actress, the next, it’s a claim of racism stemming from little more than a tweet about rodents.  Permeating it all has been the RussiaGate conspiracy theory, which, at this point, may or may not ever be put to bed.

And then there’s the issue of Donald Trump’s tax returns, and whether or not he entitled to his privacy regarding those documents.

Now, after weeks of litigious lethargy, a judge has temporarily sided with the Commander in Chief.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., temporarily blocked New York state from turning over President Donald Trump‘s state tax returns to U.S. lawmakers Thursday.

District Judge Carl Nichols said the order would stay in place while he considers whether Trump’s lawsuit should be heard in the nation’s capital or New York. Trump sued to block the House Committee on Ways and Means from accessing his returns two weeks after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomosigned a law allowing the state to share the information with the U.S. Congress.

The President has stated, quite plainly, that the democrats are likely seeking the documents in order to “embarrass” him, in a move aimed at damaging his reputation before the 2020 election.

Earlier this week, California moved closer to signing a bill that would make it impossible for President Trump to be on the ballot in The Golden State without publicly releasing his tax forms.  This law will certainly find itself on shaky ground when it comes to the Supreme Court…if it even gets that far.
