Over the course of the last few weeks, the world has been on edge.
Beginning with the massive, blazing inferno that occurred at Notre Dame Cathedral, and continuing right through last night’s synagogue shooting, it has been easy to believe that some spiritual reckoning is occurring. Of course, Notre Dame’s fire was accidental, but that coincidence stands far more ominous today than it did then.
Violence has been on the menu in mid-to-late April, no doubt, and the recent focus on houses of worship has been more than a little disturbing.
Now, a full-fledged terror plot has been unearthed in California, luckily before anyone was hurt.
A domestic terror plot aimed at “multiple targets” in Southern California was disrupted by federal and local law enforcement agencies, sources told The Times on Monday.
A single suspect has been arrested on domestic terrorism charges, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke to The Times on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case with the news media.
It appears as though authorities are planning to brief reporters at 1pm.
The recent uptick in global religious terror has drawn blood on several continents, and has claimed hundreds of lives. Who knows just how many more would have perished if it were not for the work of California authorities.
