Fears for Lt. Col. Vindman’s Safety Prompt Possible Army Action in Hyper Partisan America

We live in a nation currently straying from civility, with the rapidly running river of partisanship threatening to sweep us downstream and into a disastrous internal conflict.

This has been apparent for some time, and has escalated exponentially in the era of President Trump.  His arrival in Washington DC was meteoric, to say the least, riding in on a red wave of MAGA caps and promising to drain the swamp.

As he began to succeed in this endeavor, the swamp retaliated repeatedly, with their latest attempt to oust the President coinciding with a whistleblower complaint regarding Trump’s alleged improprieties in regard to Ukraine.

This back and forth between the President and the vermin he pledged to eradicate has only heightened tensions in our nation, and caused several instances of political discrimination and calls to violence.

It is this pathetically partisan atmosphere that has compelled the military to offer protection to one of the witnesses currently embroiled in the impeachment inquiry.

…in a sobering development, the Army is concerned for the safety of Vondman and his family once he testifies publicly for the first time Tuesday, according to The Wall Street Journal:

The U.S. Army is prepared to move Col. Vindman and his family onto a military base in the area to ensure their security if it is determined that they are in physical danger, according to U.S. officials.

Army security officials in recent weeks conducted a security assessment at Col. Vindman’s request, reviewing both his and his family’s physical security and their online security, according to U.S. officials.

Army security officials have also been monitoring Col. Vindman and his family around the clock to make sure there aren’t any imminent threats, officials said.

“The Army will make sure he’s safe, and the Army is actively supporting any safety needs as deemed necessary,” an official said. “It’s hard that he has been catapulted into the public eye. He served his country honorably for 20 years, and you can imagine this is a tough situation for him and his family.”

This should serve as a wake up call to all Americans, left and right, black or white, that we are no longer the nation that our Founding Fathers envisioned, and that our unity has been sullied – likely at the hands of a Russian campaign of disruption.
