2020 is the sort of year where anything and everything is amplified to no end. This entire year has felt like some sort of alternative universe, where anything and everything that occurs has some nefarious undertone, or is threatening in its own unique way.
So, naturally, as we approach the 2020 election there are fears of some incredible and spectacular “October Surprise” on the horizon. These events are usually bombastic and remarkable, and are used to inject enthusiasm into these political contests.
We have no idea what October surprises away us this go-round, but one Fox News host seems to think that she knows what not to expect: Anything related to John Durham’s probe of the ObamaGate scandal.
Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo reported Sunday morning that she believes that it is “unlikely” that any interim report or indictments from U.S. Attorney John Durham come before the election on November 3.
“It is unlikely that we will get a John Durham interim report or any indictments before the election, now just 37 days away,” she said on Sunday Morning Futures.
“A debate has begun within the Department of Justice as the timing of John Durham’s criminal investigation conclusions. I’m being told by sources it is now too close to the election and could be viewed as politically motivated,” she added.
Bartiromo said her view was based on conversations with sources.
This will likely come as a disappointment for President Trump and his base, who believe that John Durham is working to expose a grand and wicked scheme central to the 2016 election.
