Fox News’ Wallace Says Sondland ‘Ran A Bus’ Over POTUS and Others
Sondland’s stunt of releasing his opening statement to the press prior to his hearing seemed to hold sway over at least one anchor at Fox News.
Today’s divisive bit of testimony from US Ambassador Gordon Sondland has been reverberating around the nation in strange and unexpected ways as of late.
The Democrats, behooved by Sondland’s opening statement being released to the press prior to the public hearing, took control of the news cycle before the first gavel had been pounded in the case.
And, believe it or not, even some of the previously friendly faces over at Fox News seemed to take the bait as well.
On Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s special coverage of the House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment inquiry, network anchor Chris Wallace discussed the testimony of EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland and put the outcome in not-so-good terms for President Donald Trump and his associates.
Wallace said, “I think what Gordon Sondland was trying to do here is protect himself more than he is to protect anybody else. To a certain degree took out the bus and ran it over President Trump, Vice President Pence, Mike Pompeo, John Bolton, Rudy Giuliani, Mick Mulvaney. He implicates all of them.”
This is much of the same sentiment that was sounding across social media in the pre-hearing moments, often accompanied by colorful and violent GIFs.
