General Michael Flynn Throws His Weight Behind Martial Law Movement

2020 may not have exhausted her stash of surprises yet.

General Michael Flynn is no stranger to controversy, and that certainly isn’t changing this week.

Flynn was once a national security adviser for President Trump, drawing on the experience of his vast and storied career in order to best serve No. 45.

The General soon found himself ensnared in the “RussiaGate” investigation however, and was charged with lying to the FBI.  Flynn took a plea deal at first, believing that it might be what’s best for his family, but soon fired his lawyer and began work to withdraw that plea.

Weeks later, handwritten notes from the FBI revealed that the agents who interviewed Flynn had contemplated forcing Flynn into a lie, presumably in order to use his unwitting error as leverage against him.  When this news broke, the DOK sought to have Flynn’s case dismissed, but the judge overseeing the affair had other ideas and began dragging his feet.

This forced the White House to pardon Flynn, which itself was seen as a controversial move by Democrats and other “resistance” figures.

Now, Flynn is promoting a fairly wild idea;  That the President declare Martial Law and hold a “re-do” of the 2020 election.

And while that tweet may seem somewhat innocuous, here’s where it gets a little troublesome.

This idea was first brought to the national spotlight by a pro-Trump attorney in Georgia, Lin Wood.

Besides being unprecedented, there seems to be a bit of confusion as to what “Martial Law” truly is, given that there can be no “limited” version of the authoritarian act.

2020 may not have exhausted her stash of surprises yet.
