Things are terribly bitter in our nation’s capital as of late, and it’s difficult to see just how we’re going to weasel our way out of this cursed division.
The left and the right are fighting like cats and dogs, all to the detriment of the American people who are still waiting on another round of COVID-19 stimulus to be passed. In a matter of days, a national moratorium on evictions will expire, just after Christmas of all times, and could send millions of Americans into dire straits.
And while these failures continue to mount, President Trump’s work to rollout a COVID-19 vaccine is getting heavy praise…even from way across the aisle.
In a television appearance Thursday night, Democrat Joe Biden praised President Trump for “getting the vaccine moving” as the treatment for fighting the coronavirus began to make its way across the U.S.
“I think what he’s done, getting the vaccine moving, has been positive,” Biden told host Stephen Colbert during an appearance on “The Late Show.”
Biden’s remarks came less than a week after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration formally granted emergency approval for Pfizer and BioNTech’s coronavirus vaccine, clearing the way for it to be distributed nationwide.
Just days later, the first doses of the vaccine were being injected into the arms of health care workers and people at high risk – with broader distribution, at no charge for recipients, planned in the weeks and months ahead.
Operation Warp Speed’s initial hopes of having a vaccine rollout before the end of the calendar year was largely scoffed at by experts and pundits alike, which has made the current timeline an unabashed success, and one of the biggest feathers in President Trump’s cap to date.
