Lindsey Graham Hints at Something Big to Come in Durham Probe

Could this be 2020’s ‘October surprise’?

Whenever we approach the final stages of a US presidential election, there is talk of an October surprise arriving, just in time to either doom or deify a candidate.  These are often designed to be the last little push that a candidate needs to cross the finish line in first, or the straw that broke the constituents’ back – sometimes both, but for different candidates.

This year could bring us an unprecedented October surprise, as US Attorney John Durham continues to move toward finality with his probe of the origins of the RussiaGate conspiracy investigation that tainted the early parts of President Trump’s first term.

Now, with only a few weeks to go, Senator Lindsey Graham is preparing the country to be rocked by what Durham has discovered.

Last week, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., hinted that developments in Durham’s investigation were on the horizon. This was after newly released Justice Department records showed numerous phones belonging to members of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team were wiped of information because of forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device, intentional deletion or other reasons—all before the Justice Department inspector general’s office could review the devices.

“You think you are mad about the phones being wiped?” Graham said on Fox News’ “Hannity” last week. “Stay tuned.”

He added: “We’ll talk in about 10 or 12 days and we’ll see if there is something else you can get mad about.”

Durham’s probe has already produced results that favor President Trump, and Lindsey Graham’s coy response here indicates that this trend is likely to continue.
