Mitch McConnell Congratulates Joe Biden, Sparking Social Media Meltdown

McConnell left no room for interpretation.

Republicans in Congress have been walking a tightrope as of late, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just blew a heavy gust their direction.

The issue for many in the GOP is that President Donald Trump has refused to concede defeat to Joe Biden in the 2020 election, despite all of the conventional electoral norms that point to the former Vice President’s victory.  And while some politicians can be simply brushed aside, Donald Trump is the sole owner of a massive tract of Republican voters that conventional GOP candidates will need to remain in their cushy jobs.

Anger Trump, you anger MAGA.  Anger MAGA, and those roads to reelection shrink drastically.

Those within the GOP who’ve yet to acknowledge Biden’s win may very well have been waiting for a sign from on high.

McConnell may have just obliged them.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell explicitly acknowledged Joe Biden as president-elect for the first time on Tuesday after weeks of Republican delays in recognizing the 2020 election result.

This sent Twitter into a frenzy.

McConnell’s statement included a heaving emphasis on the sentence, “The electoral college has spoken.”, leaving no doubt about which way the winds are blowing in the Senate.
