Mitt Romney Has NASTY Altercation with George Santos at State of the Union

Santos has already been stripped of his committee assignments on account of the untruths in his purported background, and further punishment or exile could still be coming.

There are some ostensibly strange things happening in American politics these days, and there appears to be no end in sight to them.

This period will certainly be studied for decades, perhaps centuries to come, as it appears to not only be the impetus of a transformative tale of America’s ruling class, but it has also been rather quirky and entertaining.

One of the latest bizarre twists to the story comes from George Santos, freshman Republican House member whose résumé appears to have been largely fabricated – a fact not fully understood until he won his election.

Now, one of the DC establishment’s most persistent figures has taken aim at Santos, and to his face.

Republican Rep. George Santos positioned himself in a prime location for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address — an uncomfortably prominent place for the embattled new lawmaker who faces multiple investigations and has acknowledged embellishing and even lying about his life story.

Santos’ presence at the center aisle to see and be seen with the arrivals was met with a stern rebuke from a fellow Republican, Sen. Mitt Romney.

“You don’t belong here,” the Utah Republican scolded Santos as he entered the House chamber and spotted the New York Republican on the aisle.

Words were exchanged, it was reported, though Romney said later he did not hear it all.

Romney wasn’t shy about the incident.

“He shouldn’t be in Congress, and they are going to go through the process and hopefully get him out,” Romney told reporters afterward, his office confirmed. “But he shouldn’t be there, and if he had any shame at all he wouldn’t be there.”
