MLB Investigating Umpire Who Threatened Civil War via Tweet

Major League Baseball certainly has its fair share of umpires who’ve received undue criticism.  A ball inside, a bang-bang play at home.  Even the author of this article has been known to boo the boys in blue from time to time.  But there there is no denying that the subject of the following story deserves whatever jeers he hears.

In a stunning sign of the times, as our political differences continues to drive our nation apart, this umpire in question has threatened to start a civil war should the impeachment of President Donald Trump move forward.

In a tweet that has since been deleted, MLB umpire Rob Drake took exception to the secretive manner in which the impeachment proceedings against Trump have been conducted, and warned of future consequences.

“I will be buying an AR-15 tomorrow, because if you impeach MY PRESIDENT this way, YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER CIVAL WAR!!! #MAGA2020”

Drake was not having a great day, apparently, having earlier tweeted the following from his now-deleted account:

“You can’t do an impeachment inquiry from the basement of Capital Hill without even a vote! What is going on in this country?”

And while Drake is certainly entitled to his political opinion, now is a time in which our nation must turn away from violence and vitriol as quickly and throughly as possible.  We are not savages, we are a society.  We have been given our inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness to then insinuate bringing war to our fellow countrymen.

This is the sort of sentiment that may get you sent off permanently.
