The political ramifications of the Democrats’ impeachment push are not limited only to the White House, as this chaotic crisis continues to roll downhill and into the average Americans’ home.
The issue of late is that there is already an inevitable end to the nonsense in plain sight: The Senate will acquit Donald Trump, and swiftly. There is no point to all of this, at least legally or literally. Instead, the Democrats are using this opportunity as a 24/7 propaganda campaign meant to harm Donald Trump’s chances of reelection.
Understanding this clandestine purpose was apparently an eye-opener for Newt Gingrich, who this week blasted the process as “garbage”.
“My personal view: All of this is garbage,” Gingrich declared.
“Remember, this president is saying to the Ukrainians, ‘Help me get to the truth,’” he continued. “When did the New York Times and the Washington Post suddenly decide that covering up the truth was a good idea? This is crazy. And the Democrats, frankly, are behaving in a way that’s crazy. Historians are going to look back and say this whole case was totally made up.”
Gingrich went on to say the impeachment probe is a “coup” that is “literally like the Salem Witch Trials.”
The former House Speaker certainly isn’t the first person to insinuate such, with President Trump himself often uttering a similarly metaphorical take on the subject.
