Pelosi puts a timeline on Trump impeachment during late night appearance

The rabid democrats will still be unsatisfied, however.

Nancy Pelosi took time out of her busy legislating schedule to visit one of the key figures of the “resistance” last night, and she had some choice words for the President during her appearance.

Speaker Pelosi has been the stubborn fulcrum on the lopsided seesaw of the democratic party as of late.  The young, hip, and fresh end of the progressive party is foaming at the mouth, hoping to finally rid the US of President Trump and all of the evils that the mainstream media has imbued him with, and they believe that impeachment will be the key.  Of course, those on the other side are often quick to remind the democrats that this is the sort of doomed idea that will be lopped off at the head once it reaches the Senate.

Nancy Pelosi surely knows this, and has tempered the frothing and flailing democratic base time and time again on the prospect.  Her belief, which may very well be true, is that a failed impeachment would lead to a rebound of support for President Donald Trump and the republicans during the 2020 election.

Even after Robert Mueller’s Wednesday press conference doused gasoline on the impeachment fires, Pelosi has been hesitant to commit to such an action.

Last night, however, her tune seems to have changed a bit

ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel questioned Speaker Nancy Pelosi about why she had not pushed forward on the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Nancy Pelosi stalled, saying that although Democrats were “on the path” to impeach the president, she wanted to make sure the case was “iron clad” before moving forward.

Kimmel appeared disappointed but pressed on, asking the House leader if Democrats would be ready to impeach Trump before the next election.

“Will we be ready before the year 2020?” Kimmel asked.

“Yeah, we will,” Pelosi replied.

Then came a bold proclamation.

Nancy Pelosi teased that she knew more about the case against the president than anyone else in Congress.

“Let me just say this immodestly, I probably have a better idea as to what the president has to be held accountable than anyone,” she said.

Pelosi’s statements certainly came in friendly waters, as Kimmel has been a vocal opponent of President Trump’s from the very beginnings of his political career.
