Pelosi puts on a ‘sad’ face to keep democrats from celebrating impeachment

This emotional calculation is aimed directly at the more-progressive pockets of the Democratic Party, such as “The Squad”.

The coming conflict between Democrats and Republicans will undoubtedly be an ugly one, and Nancy Pelosi knows it.

There has simply been too much buildup by the left for this “formal impeachment inquiry” to slip quietly into the halls of Capitol Hill.  The progressive pockets of the Democratic Party have been clamoring for just such a maneuver for literally years, and, judging by some of the more lackadaisical celebrations that we’e seen in Twitter, a great deal of left-leaning folks are practically overjoyed at the idea of battling the White House.

That is an attitude that this nation has neither the time nor the energy for, and will only weaken the cause of the Democrats as it allows President Trump and his supporters to exploit this “joy” in decrying the liberals.

That’s why Speaker Pelosi is putting on her sad face.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said Saturday that she is heartbroken and prayerful as House Democrats move forward with their impeachment inquiry and that President Donald Trump’s actions left her no other choice.

“This is a very sad time for our country. There is no joy in this,” she said. “We must be somber, we must be prayerful and we must pursue the facts further to make a decision as to, Did this violate the Constitution of the United States? Which I believe it did.”

The cautious Congresswoman continued…

“I’m heartbroken about it. I would just have hoped that there would be something exculpatory, something that would say, ‘This is not what it seems to be,’ but that’s not where we are right now,” she added. “I think that right now there’s a cover up of the cover up. This really goes beyond.”

Of course, this is likely little more than a calculated adjustment of perception meant to preserve the Democrats’ maturity level during what is sure to be a contentious conflict.
