Pelosi Says She’s Ready to Decide Next President in Case of Dispute

Oh boy…

In order to successfully exit 2020 without any majorly horrific bloodshed, all the American people need at this moment is a clear answer as to who won the presidential election.  No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, if you have a patriotic bone in your body you are rooting for a clean result, no matter who wins.

The concern is that, should the election results be disputed, the thorough political radicalization of We The People could be on full display as of Tuesday evening.  That’s why, even if your preferred candidate doesn’t win, you want to make sure that the results are ironclad.

Those who seek out the uncertainty of an electoral mess are not the sort of folks we should be encouraging.

But, should there be some strange dispute arising from the election, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said that she’s ready to get involved with deciding the winner.

“We understand what the law is and the preeminence of the role of Congress and specifically the House of Representatives when it comes to counting the votes,” Pelosi said in an interview with the public radio station.

Should the presidential election not present a clear winner by electoral vote, then it is up to the House to choose the next president.

“We’re ready. We’re prepared. We’ve been ready for a while because we see this irresponsibility of the president, his disrespect for the Constitution, for our democracy and for the integrity of our elections. So we’re ready for him,” Pelosi said.

This would almost certainly prompt moans and groans from the MAGA movement, who have largely seen Pelosi as an anti-Trump stalwart and “resistance” figure.
