Possible Biden VP Pick Says Trump Tulsa Rally was ‘Embarrassment’

This was an audition if we ever saw one…

Joe Biden has yet to announce his running mate for the 2020 election, (despite having already formed a transition team), and now one of the names on his short list looks to be ramping up her auditions for the job.

The former veep has previously committed to choosing a female running mate.  Amy Klobuchar, once considered a frontrunner for the position, last week told the nation that she was withdrawing from the running in order to allow for a woman of color to be chosen.

Of the possible choices left for Biden under this assumption, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has been near the top of the list, and has frequently appeared on CNN over the course of the last month, undeniably boosting her national presence.

Bottoms is now taking pot shots at President Trump in a  fairly obvious bid for Biden’s attention.

From an appearance on CNN:

Host Jake Tapper said, “The president held his first rally since the pandemic began last night. What was your response to his remarks?”

Bottoms said, “You know, Jake, like so many people across this country, my first response was that I hope that this is a preview for November. That finally, people are recognizing that this man is a danger to our country, a danger to our democracy, and he should not be the president of the United States of America.”

“That rally was an embarrassment,” she continued. “It was absolutely what the nation does not need right now. He did not speak about healing. He did not recognize any of the racial tensions that are happening across our country. Instead, he does what he always does. He continues to try and divide us and really inflames the worst in people. And so I just hope that this is a good sign that the country is moving on from him.”

Biden has said that he hopes to have a running mate chosen by August 1.
