President Trump escalates ‘SpyGate’ with one word – and it’s a doozy
This is the sort of language that is sure to rile the democrats.
Republicans are calling it payback. For Sean Hannity, it’s “Operation Boomerang“. But President Trump has a much more powerful description, however, for the newly minted investigation into the origins of the Mueller investigation.
Treason.
My Campaign for President was conclusively spied on. Nothing like this has ever happened in American Politics. A really bad situation. TREASON means long jail sentences, and this was TREASON!

The “T” word, typed out by the President in a furious Twitter post, set off a firestorm of controversy on social media today.
And what point would that be?
2020? 2024? 2028?
Who will come after him?#IvankaTrump ? #DonJr ?

This message from #Trump about #treason is indicative of what he is thinking about. It indicates, rather obviously, that neurologically, his attention was/is on treason. Ego protection means he will project that on someone else, when it's actually related to himself. #GotIt

What'll your prison sentence be for #Treason ? #TrumpMustGo

The President was referring to the scandal now known as “SpyGate”, that Attorney General Bill Barr has vowed to investigate.
The theory here is that the Obama administration authorized covert surveillance of the 2016 Trump campaign using flimsy and unverifiable “evidence” such as the Steele Dossier. If this is found to have been an improper use of the intelligence community, there could be hell to pay for those involved.
That includes men such as disgraced former FBI Director James Comey, who was also central to the decision not to bring charges against 2016 democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for her illegal and unauthorized use of a private email server to hide her communications from the government during her stint as Secretary of State.
The President has cited a Fox News poll regarding the American people’s opinion of the scandal as well – a survey that indicates 58% of those polled believe undue and unwarranted surveillance of the 2016 Trump campaign likely occurred.
