Rand Paul Raises Specter of SpyGate in Latest Tirade

Rand Paul has long been a champion of the American people, undoubtedly, and his reaction to the revelations of Bill Barr’s summary of the Mueller Report prove that yet again.

Paul, whose father was one of the most orthodox libertarians to ever grace Capitol Hill, is livid.  Robert Mueller’s 22-month endeavor has come to an end, and the ensuing hysteria had already convicted the President of Russian “collusion” in the court of public opinion.

This is undoubtedly thanks to the mainstream media’s bloodlust in the matter, imbuing every court filing with a negative connotation in their selfish quest for ratings and advertiser dollars.

Now, in light of the latest disclosures from the investigation, Rand Paul is leading the charge to examine what impetus caused this long national nightmare.

“The president was at lunch today and he voiced his support for investigating the people who concocted this hoax,” Paul told Breitbart News. “He didn’t use the word hoax, those are my words, but I think we should get to the bottom of this and he believes we should get to the bottom of this because this should never happen to another president. He feels that it’s damaging to the country, damaging to the ability to lead the country, that we basically—somebody within the Obama administration, within the DOJ and the FBI, basically concocted an investigation, trumped it up to be something that it wasn’t and then we’ve gone through two years of the country being stalled because of this fake investigation.”

Concerns over the Obama administration’s ties to the purported “spies” were rampant in the aftermath of the scandal first breaking.

But that wasn’t Paul’s only concern.  He, like many Americans, feared for the precedent set by the investigation itself.

“I think it’s a terrible tragedy,” Paul said of the investigation. “It cost us $30 million, two years to go through all of this, the media has been so consumed by all of this that they have barely had time to report on any of the real news of the day. I think we shouldn’t allow this to happen again to a Republican or a Democrat.”

The Swamp is certainly still alive and kicking, despite President Trump’s best efforts to drain it.
