Russian Military Elites Claim that ‘World War 3’ is on the Horizon

Despite Putin’s continued military embarrassments, these sort of threats cannot be taken too lightly.

As the American electorate continues to find itself divided down party lines, and with the world around us devolving into chaos at times, we must be wary of those who look to accelerate the chaos.

Russia is undoubtedly one of those global actors who prefer catastrophe to harmony, and who have long wished the world to struggle and writhe around them in order for Putin and his Kremlin to gain yet another foothold.

The annexation of Crimea is but one of Vladimir Putin’s inexcusable trespasses, and, left unchecked, there is little doubt that he will move again in the direction of rebuilding the old Soviet Union.

Now, just days after the US was forced to threaten a Russian spy ship that was loitering off the East Coast of America, one of the Kremlin’s most decorated generals is sounding the alarm.

Valery Gerasimov, the chief Vladimir Putin’s general staff, has said he believes the West are preparing for a “large-scale military conflict”.

Putin’s war boss said: “Work continues on the deployment of US missile defence components in Europe.

“In the Baltic countries and Poland, the Black and Baltic seas, military activity is intensifying, the intensity of the bloc’s military exercises is rising.

“Their scenarios point to NATO’s targeted preparation for engaging its forces in a large-scale military conflict.”

He accused the West of over-egging the “Russian military threat” amid the ongoing tension.

He continued:

General Gerasimov went on: “In such conditions, we can’t rule out that crises could emerge that may get out of control and develop into a large-scale military conflict

“Unprecedented political, economic and information pressure is exerted on states trying to pursue an independent policy, including Russia.”

“We must be prepared for any scenario of the development of the situation.

Putin and his military have long been making a nuisance of themselves on the world’s stage, but not without incident.

Earlier this year, a mysterious explosion at a possible nuclear test facility killed five Russian scientists, and possibly irradiated a great many more.

Furthermore, an unprecedented fire on a Russian nuclear submarine caused the deaths of fourteen mariners flying under the Kremlin’s banner.
