Schumer Throws Cold Water on Possibility of Calling Hunter Biden in Senate Trial

The Democrats are stymying the right’s attempt to get to the bottom of this entire mess, because the revelations that lie within would be vindicating for the President.

The Democratic reluctance to allow Hunter Biden to face grilling by Congress is a hearty indication that the left is more concerned with getting President Trump than getting to the bottom of what really occurred on that July 25th phone call with Ukraine.

Trump is a swamp-drainer, and he hoped to see some similar characteristics in new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.  Their correspondence was meant as a litmus test for Zelensky’s “reformer” claims, and the story of Hunter Biden’s bizarre career with Burisma seemed like a good starting point because, if the new Ukrainian President would have the gall to go after such a big fish, then we would certainly be unafraid to root out other instances of corruption in his nation.

So, naturally, it seems important to the Republican Party to get to the bottom of this Biden/Burisma business.  The only problem is that the left just won’t let them.

A partial transcript of Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer’s recent appearance on CNN seems to reiterate this.

[HOST JOHN] BERMAN: Does that mean if the Republicans said to you, “we want to hear from Hunter Biden?”

SEN. SCHUMER: Well, look. No one, not a single person I’ve heard, even those who want Hunter Biden, have even alleged that he has knowledge of the fact-case the House is presenting. This shouldn’t be for Democrats to bring in there favorite conspiracy theories and Republicans to bring in theres. This is an august and solemn proceeding. It’s a very important proceeding. These four witnesses have knowledge of the facts. If Mitch McConnell or any other Republican say witness Y or witness C have specific knowledge of what happened, of course I would think they should be able to testify.

BERMAN: But witness Y or witness C, in your mind, does not include Hunter Biden.

SEN. SCHUMER: I agree. They have not shown a single bit of evidence that Hunter Biden can answer any of these facts. He’s a distraction.

Of course, if there were improprieties in the hiring of Hunter Biden by Burisma, President Trump’s attempts to get to the bottom of this corruption would be at least partially vindicated.

This is a risk that the Democrats just cannot take.
