Bernie Sanders believes that he can win the Iowa caucuses on Monday, those who support him have taken that confidence to an obscene level.
According to sources within the campaign, Sanders’ staffers have been told to being preparing to celebrate the coming victory, throwing superstition to the side with a gusto normally reserved for boneheaded bloopers from the wide world of sports.
Of course, talk of whether or not Sanders can secure the Democratic nomination still run rampant, especially with 2016’s controversial loss to Hillary Clinton still fresh on the minds of the Bernie faithful.
Freshman Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib tapped into this disdain for the establishment Democrat during a stump speech for Bernie in The Hawkeye State.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., couldn’t resist the urge to boo former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton when her name came up during a Sen. Bernie Sanders event in Iowa on Friday evening, three days before the Iowa caucuses.
Moderator Dionna Langford mentioned that Clinton was quoted in an interview saying “nobody likes” Sanders, The Hill reported.
“We’re not gonna boo, we’re not gonna boo. We’re classy here,” Langford said as the crowd erupted.
That’s when the outspoken Tlaib insisted…
“No, I’ll boo. Boo!” Tlaib, who was seated onstage next to laughing Reps. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., interrupted. “You all know, I can’t be quiet. No, we’re going to boo. That’s all right. The haters will shut up on Monday when we win.”
Congresswoman Tlaib has often been brash during her brief time on Capitol Hill, even going so far as to insist that she will “impeach the motherf***er” during her inauguration ceremony, in reference to President Donald Trump.
Tlaib later backtracked on her statement, calling for “unity” within the hotly divided Democratic Party.
