‘Squad’ Member Ilhan Omar Touts Conspiracy Theory Surrounding Iran Strike

Now we’ve heard it all…

There is no doubt whatsoever that freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar doesn’t care much for Donald Trump.  The Minnesota Democrat has been one of the leading “resistance” voices in Congress since her inauguration back in early 2019.

Her latest anti-Donald drivel may be her strangest yet, however, and it comes in the immediate wake of the Commander in Chief ordering an airstrike that killed one of Iran’s most dangerous men.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) reacted to the U.S.’s assassination of a top Iranian commander on Thursday evening by warning that she will “step in and stop” President Donald Trump, while a spreading conspiracy theory about his motive behind the deadly strike.

“So what if Trump wants war, knows this leads to war and needs the distraction?” Omar, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, asked on social media. “Real question is, will those with congressional authority step in and stop him? I know I will.”

The DOD seems to disagree with Omar’s assessment, however, stating that there were perfectly good reasons to have General Qasem Soleimani – the leader in question.

The Defense Department said Soleimani “was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.” It also accused Soleimani of approving the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad earlier this week.

A statement released late Thursday by the Pentagon said the strike on Soleimani “was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans.”

Soleimani was targeted by US military drones just a day after an Iran-backed militia attempted to torch the US embassy in Iraq – an attack that was only stymied by the deployment of Marines to the site.
