Texas Law Allowing Armed Parishioners was Decried by Joe Biden in September

Biden’s stance on the Second Amendment won’t do him any favors if he is forced to face Trump in 2020.

A tragedy in Texas was stifled this week by yet another “good guy with a gun”, and only months after the law that made it possible was blasted by one of the top tier candidates in the 2020 field.

In the town of White Settlement, Texas, a lone shooter entered a small church and began shooting.  Within seconds, an armed man in the congregation was able to incapacitate the would-be mass murderer with a firearm of his own.  While two worshipers were killed, the quick thinking of the armed and faithful attendee undoubtedly save many more lives.

This was all made possible by a recent legal maneuver that allows Texans to carry firearms during church – something that former Vice President Joe Biden blasted just weeks ago.

While being interviewed by C-SPAN in September Biden criticized Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) signing of a law to allow licensed gun owners to carry firearms in church for self-defense. Biden said, “It is irrational, with all due respect to the Governor of Texas, it is irrational what they are doing.”

Biden elaborated by describing the idea of “being able to take [guns] into places of worship” as “absolutely irrational.”

The incident has again reiterated the old standby argument that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun – a fact that the liberal left simply cannot stand.

Biden’s stance on the Second Amendment is largely at odds with both conservatives and centrists, many of whom he’ll be forced to court if he hopes to stand a chance again Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
