‘The Wire’ Actor Blasts Tulsi Gabbard as ‘Mole’ in 2020 Democratic Race

The idea of Tulsi Gabbard acting as a political spoiler for the 2020 race isn’t new, however.

There have long been concerns among the Democrats as to the role that Tulsi Gabbard will play in the coming election.

The Hawaiian Representative is a different sort of Democrat, often pushing back against the liberal point of view on issues of military might and foreign relations.  Gabbard has shades of libertarianism coloring her political palette, and this is apparently a threat to the Democratic Party.

Now, a Hollywood staple who spent years chasing moles and rats on HBO’s The Wire is returning to some familiar verbiage to describe Gabbard.

Actor Wendell Pierce suggested that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is a “Republican mole in the Democratic Primary” aiming to promote “political sabotage.”

The Jack Ryan actor responded to a video the presidential hopeful posted to Twitter, warning that the partisan impeachment effort in the House “has greatly increased the likelihood Trump will remain the president for the next 5 years.”

“Ms. Gabbard: you are a Republican mole in the Democratic Primary to cause disruption and division,” Pierce wrote, accusing her of spouting “a litany of GOP talking points.”

“And your policies are? You have no interest in promoting an agenda of governance, but one of political sabotage,” he added.

The idea of Tulsi Gabbard acting as a political spoiler for the 2020 race isn’t new, however.

Earlier this year, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton insinuated that Gabbard was being “groomed” by the Kremlin to act as a “third party spoiler” in the 2020 race – an allegation that bore quite a resemblance to her previous statements regarding Donald Trump during her failed 2016 campaign.
