Top Intel Official Torpedoes Adam Schiff’s Accusations Regarding Hunter Biden Email Story

This story continues to grow stranger by the minute.

Last week, the New York Post dropped what was believed to be the first true “October Surprise” of the 2020 election, announcing that they had received materials from a laptop computer allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden; son of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Hunter Biden’s business deals in Ukraine have long been an obsession of President Donald Trump’s, and his insistence at getting to the bottom of the issue even led to his impeachment and acquittal last year.  Now, if the emails contained on the laptop are to be believed, the purported distance that Joe Biden kept from his son’s career was all a sham and the politically-entrenched family has plenty of explaining to do.

But not everyone appears to be convinced of the legitimacy of the materials presented by the Post, partially due to the fact that Rudy Giuliani has had a hand in their discovery, and the former NYC Mayor has been a little bit off the rails as of late.

One theory being disseminated by the Democrats is that the laptop story was planted by Russia as a means to further inject disinformation into the 2020 election.  Now, the nation’s top intelligence officer is boohooing this idea.

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Monday said the information contained on Hunter Biden’s laptop revealed by The Post last week “is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign.”

During an appearance on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” Ratcliffe shot down allegations by Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, that emails showing former Vice President Joe Biden knew about his son’s business dealings in Ukraine are a “smear” created by Moscow.

“Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” Ratcliffe said.

“Let me be clear: The intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that. And we have shared no intelligence with Adam Schiff, or any member of Congress,” he said.

Adam Schiff has repeatedly tarnished his own reputation in Congress with wild theories and his bizarre behavior during the Trump impeachment proceedings, making him an easy target for both Trump supporters and Ratcliffe.
