Trump proposes using the DOJ to investigate Biden family corruption

The idea will certainly irk Democratic lawmakers, however, who are now operating under the vague guise of a “formal impeachment inquiry”.

President Trump’s willingness to enlist the help of allied nations in investigating the alleged corruption of the Biden family has turned heads the nation over.

For some, particularly those who find themselves in the progressive posse, the maneuver was uncouth as could be.  They see this as the President abusing his office in order to gain leverage on a political rival.  Others, including Vice President Mike Pence, have made the argument that Trump is merely doing what’s in the best interest of the country at large, and that this attempt to out the Biden’s is a direct fit to the President’s “drain the swamp” ethos.

Now, as pressure continues to mount on Capitol Hill, Donald Trump is again floating the idea of investigating the Joe and Hunter Biden, this time using the Department of Justice to do so.

This is a similar concept to something mentioned by Senator Lindsey Graham last week.

Sen. Lindsey Graham called on the Justice Department to investigate “all things Ukraine” Sunday amid controversy about a secretive whistleblower complaint likely regarding a phone call between President Trump and Ukraine’s president.

The South Carolina Republican and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee said he was, “hoping that the Department of Justice will look at the Biden-Ukraine connection the way that we looked at Trump-Russia connection” in a Fox News interview, and called for DOJ to appoint an investigator. Graham also brought up Republican claims that Ukrainian officials tried helping Hillary Clinton win in 2016.

The idea will certainly irk Democratic lawmakers, however, who are now operating under the vague guise of a “formal impeachment inquiry”.
