Former President Donald Trump has, by the virtue of his lonely position in the 2024 race, been able to take this new campaign at his own speed thus far. Opting for for a blend of large rallies and intimate gatherings, Trump has been focusing his time and efforts on earl-voting states where a big win could help put him on a downhill path toward the nomination.
Of course, this isn’t exactly the way that the mainstream media would describe the situation, choosing instead to focus on the still-nonexistent charges that Trump faces in a number of politically-motivated “witch hunts”, to borrow a phrase from the former President himself.
That’s why Trump is taking some time in the early days of his campaign to remind Americans of just how difficult trusting the mainstream media can be.
Former President Donald Trump shredded the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, and MSNBC as “fake news media” in a series of videos shared to his Truth Social account and his campaign’s war room Twitter account on Wednesday.
“The fake news media like CNN, MSDNC – which is sometimes referred to as MSNBC –the Washington Compost – which is sometimes referred to as the Washington Post – and the failing New York Times are doing really, really badly and closing up shop all over the place,” said Trump in one of his videos.
Trump continued…
“CNN is shuttering its longtime headquarters building and the money-losing Washington Post is being peddled all over to see whether or not somebody wants to buy it. In the meantime they’re firing massive numbers of people. Not reporting with credibility has its consequences. The future of the fake news looks bleak and that’s a positive thing, but beware the Marxists and communists, which are well represented in our government. Many of them got there by fake news, so we have to stop it.”
Trump won’t be the only candidate in the 2024 race for long, as former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley appears to be planning her own announcement of intent in just two weeks’ time.
