It is election season again, folks, and time to start judging our politicians not on the merit they bring to government, but by their ability to add weight to their wallets.
In this primary season, a slew of democrats are lining up to take on incumbent President Donald Trump of the GOP. And, boy, do we mean slew.
There are no fewer than 18 democrats currently considered in the running for the Oval Office – a number that eclipses even the GOP ticket from 2016, which was considered absurdly crowded just 3 years ago.
There are concerns, of course, that such a wide field could dilute the support of the democratic base, and these fears are not being assuaged by the latest fundraising data.
President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign raised more than $30 million in the first quarter of 2019, according to numbers provided to the Associated Press.
The Republican National Committee has raised $45.8 million dollars in the same time period, leaving the duel threat war chest with $82 million cash on hand.
And, to make these numbers ever more impressive, the Trump campaign has released a report stating that their average donation size was under $35.
As Matthew McConaughey once said….
