Trump’s ‘Salute to America’ poised to become hotbed of political protest

Are things going to get ugly on the National Mall tomorrow?

As with anything pertaining in any way to Donald Trump, the President’s Fourth of July celebration looks poised to become a pedantic, political fracas on the National Mall.

We have “the resistance” to thank for this.  This nationally-unorganized mob and anti-Trump rabble rousers has cemented their carte blanche opposition to any and all initiatives and behaviors pertaining to the President, pressuring democratic public servants in the nation’s capital to do the same.

And while the stagnation caused by the radical left is only marginally worse than the normal stagnation of the Capitol, it is the violence of “resistance” groups such as Antifa that are alarming.

As the President prepares for a grandiose show of patriotism on the National Mall tomorrow, an angry democratic derailment could be in the offing.

Anti-war Code Pink members began arriving at the Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, saying in a press release they intend “to protest the militarization of July 4” and hold an “anti-imperialist festival” Thursday on the National Mall.

They are looking to float a “Baby Trump” balloon — versions of which have been flown at protests in London — blocks away from the national celebration. The National Park Service denied their initial request to fly the blimp, but Code Pink has filed additional paperwork in a last-ditch bid to see the inflated caricature of the president take float.

That’s not all.

But other left-wing activists organized by All Out D.C. are set to mobilize on Saturday in response to a planned rally by self-described “Western chauvinist” group the Proud Boys. U.S. Park Police, which covers the National Mall, is on alert, according to the Washington Post.

“We’ll have people in different locations and watching,” spokesperson Sgt. Eduardo Delgado told the Post. “We prepare for the worst and hope for the best.”

Political violence in the United States has been on the rise in recent months, thanks not only to the radicalization of the progressive constituency, but also thanks to the mainstream media’s division-for-dollars ethos.
