VIDEO: DeSantis Blindsided with 2024 Question, Gives INTERESTING Response
Viewers were REALLY confused.
For a good, long time now, the nation has been under the impression that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would be running for President in 2024.
No, it’s not because Ron told us all that he was going to run. He hasn’t stated that intent even once. It’s because of some of the posturing he appears to be doing behind the scenes, meeting with mega-donors and picking fights that will get him airtime in cable news’ primetime lineup.
And so it should not be a surprise to Ron DeSantis that we all think he’s going to run, and it’s becoming harder and harder for him to make like he doesn’t also know it.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday dodged a question about polling for the 2024 presidential race during a trip to Japan as the governor, who hasn’t officially launched a White House bid, has continued polling as a top Republican contender in primary hypotheticals.
Asked about polls that show him trailing former President Trump, DeSantis said, “I’m not a candidate, so we’ll see if and when that changes,” footage released by CNN shows.
DeSantis looked a bit like a deer in the headlights:

The timing of the question certainly wasn’t out of line.
Although he’s not officially announced a bid, DeSantis has polled as a top possible contender — and regularly the top potential challenger to Trump — in GOP primary hypotheticals, and he has made moves that have stoked speculation about a possible campaign. He said earlier this year that he would make a 2024 decision after Florida’s legislative session wraps up in May.
But recent polling has shown Trump pulling further ahead of the GOP field, and DeSantis is facing concerns from within his party about his strength and urgency about the race.
It has been suggested by DeSantis’ detractors that his lack of urgency may be a tactic that would allow former President Trump’s legal troubles to cripple his electability before the Florida Governor needs to spend any money on campaigning.
