Video from US Border Depicts Heavily Armed Human Smugglers Headed North

The news comes on heels of reports involving a number of heavily armed US militia groups on the border.

The crisis at the southern border has been politicized incessantly over the course of the last few years, thanks to a renewed interest in its security.

President Trump, who campaigned heavily on the concept of building a “big, beautiful” wall on the southern border, has been unflappable in his mission.  The democrats, on the other hand, have steadily been shifting to the left on the issue with some congressional lawmakers even being accused of cheerleading for the idea of “open borders”.

Amid the controversy, a number of enormous migrant “caravans” have surged toward the US border, traveling north through Mexico from their homelands in Central America.  These massive crowds, of thousands upon thousands of people, have crippled the US Customs and Border Patrol intake sites, while other migrants opt for the dangerous and illegal smuggling routes.

On these routes, a lawless atmosphere exists, with women and children sometimes finding themselves victimized by those who shepherd them.

These smugglers, known as “coyotes”, are now apparently very well armed.

New government video obtained by Fox News shows heavily armed men at the U.S.-Mexico border escorting a migrant mother and son into the United States. Border Patrol officials told Fox News this is an unusual event and express concern that it will become a more regular occurrence – possibly leading to violence.

U.S. Border Patrol surveillance cameras caught the armed smugglers escort the migrant family at 10 p.m. Saturday near the town of Lukeville in the southwest corner of Arizona.

The video shows four to five men in full tactical gear and masks — carrying long guns and AK-47 assault rifles – escort a Guatemalan woman and her 8-year-old child under a vehicle barrier. The armed escorts turned back across the border. The woman and child turned themselves into border agents, who responded to the incursion.

Earlier this week, a number of migrants were detained by US militia groups on the border, leading to the arrest of the armed group’s leader by the FBI.
