Woman Arrested After Posing as Law Enforcement Near Capitol

Another plot foiled?

The trouble is far from over, folks, and this week has the potential to be a very tough one for America.

On Wednesday, Joe Biden is set to be inaugurated as the 46th President of our nation, but he will do so in a fortress.  After a massive mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol on January 6th, The Beltway has become militarized.  The FBI and other agencies are warning that more violent plans are being made online, many of which culminate in DC on the 20th itself.

Furthermore, during the January 6th event, there were a number of police officers who seemed to be assisting the raiders, with Capitol Police having suspended several members pending investigations into their actions.

Now, with only a few dozen hours between now and the inauguration, authorities have discovered another sinister plot unfolding just blocks from the Capitol.

U.S. Capitol Police have arrested a woman from Stratford, CT who is accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer.

According to officials, 63-year-old Linda MaGovern approached a United States Capitol Inauguration Permieter Checkpoint at First and Columbus Circle NE on Saturday around 8:45 a.m.

Police said MaGovern displayed a metallic object, which was identified as a Military Police Challenge Coin, and stated she was a law enforcement officer and part of the presidential cabinet.

MaGovern was told to put her car in park three times and turn off the car. She was asked for her driver’s license when she began to drive forward.

She was ordered to stop her car before she fled northbound on Columbus Circle NE.

MaGovern was eventually stopped and arrested, and faces a number of charges stemming from the incident.

All eyes will be on DC on Wednesday.
